Abstract
This interview commemorates the centenary of the birth of Fidel Castro by examining the enduring relevance of his theoretical and political contributions to contemporary struggles for national sovereignty, socialism, and human emancipation. Through a dialogue between Fidel Antonio Castro-Smirnov and Carlos L. Garrido, the discussion situates Fidel Castro not only as a revolutionary statesman but also as a significant Marxist theorist whose ideas emerged through and alongside the practical struggles of the Cuban Revolution. The interview explores the universal dimensions of Fidel's thought, including anti-imperialism, internationalism, ecological responsibility, popular sovereignty, and the centrality of political consciousness in revolutionary transformation.
